A deer is one of the few animals that looks right in any drawing style. Antlers can be drawn as bare branches, as the spokes of a mandala or as the lead lines of a stained-glass window; the long neck and big-eared head of a doe or a fawn work just as well in a quick cartoon as in a detailed woodland scene. These deer coloring pages use all of that range. Stags, does and fawns appear in forest and meadow settings, in art nouveau, art deco, folk, patchwork and papercut treatments, and in a handful of plain open-line pages that need nothing more than a few crayons. Every animal here is an original Papaya Ink drawing, so you will not find anyone borrowed from a film.
Click any picture and the PDF opens in a new tab, ready to print on US Letter paper; it fits A4 with the same margins. The button above the grid downloads the whole collection as one PDF book, which is the easier route if you want a stack for a classroom or a rainy weekend. The line art is clean black on white and prints well on an ordinary home printer.
A few things make deer easy to color well. The coat is not one flat brown: a whitetail is tan on the back, cream on the belly and inside the ears, with a white patch under the tail, and a fawn's spots are lighter than the coat around them, so leave them pale instead of filling them in. Antlers look best in two tones, darker at the base and almost white at the tips. On the patterned and mandala pages, pick two or three colors and repeat them around the design rather than using every pencil in the tin. On the forest scenes, color the deer first and keep the background a shade lighter so the animal stays in front.

Fun Things to Make with These Coloring Pages
- Antler garland – color several stag pages, cut out the heads with antlers, punch a hole in each and string them on twine for a mantel garland in the fall.
- Woodland lantern – color a forest page lightly, rub the back with a little vegetable oil so the paper turns translucent, and wrap it around a glass jar with a battery tea light inside.
- Two-tone test – color the same page twice, once in realistic browns and once in two bold unrelated colors, and pin them side by side; the second one usually wins.
- Gift tags – print a fawn page at a reduced size, color it, cut around the animal and punch a corner hole for a hand-made tag.
- Stained-glass window – color a patterned page with markers, then flip it and go over the back with the same colors so the paper glows when taped to a window.
- Framed set – pick a few stag pages in different styles, color them in one shared palette and hang them in a row in matching frames.
- Pencil-only challenge – take a plain page and shade it with a single brown pencil, light pressure on the belly, heavy on the back and legs.
- Card front – fold a sheet of card stock, color a small fawn, cut it out and glue it to the front with some hand-drawn leaves around it.
