Every species has its own word for a baby, and that is half the charm of this collection: a lamb, a kid, a calf, a foal, a cria, a piglet, a cub. These baby animal coloring pages gather the newborns and the barely-walking from the farmyard and a little beyond – the ones with ears they have not grown into and legs that have not yet agreed on a direction. Some pages are drawn in a big-eyed cartoon style with open shapes, others are realistic enough to show every curl of fleece and every strand of mane, and most have the mother close by, because that is where a baby animal usually is.
Click any picture to open it as a PDF in a new tab, then print or save it. The pages are set up for US Letter and fit A4 without scaling; the line art is black and white, so it prints cleanly on any home printer. Every animal here is a Papaya Ink original – nothing borrowed from a film or a toy shelf.
Babies are mostly soft edges, so this is a place for light pressure and layered pencils: build a coat from two or three close shades rather than one flat color, and leave the lightest fur – chests, muzzles, the inside of ears – almost untouched. Realistic pages reward patience; the fur is already drawn, and a thin wash of color over it is enough. Cartoon pages take markers happily. Either way, a pink nose and a little shine left in the eyes do most of the work.

Fun Things to Make with These Coloring Pages
- Mother-and-baby cards – fold a sheet of cardstock, color a page, cut out the pair and glue them to the front. Write the baby's name for the species inside – lamb, kid, cria – and let the recipient guess the animal.
- Barnyard mobile – color several babies, cut each out leaving a thin white border, and hang them from a painted stick with thread at different lengths. Light cardstock keeps them from curling.
- Name-the-baby quiz – color a page, cover the caption, and ask who knows what a baby alpaca or a baby goat is called. Works at dinner with adults just as well as with kids.
- Growth chart – color a tall page, mount it on a strip of poster board and mark heights up the side. The smallest animal goes at the bottom; the chart grows with the child.
- Patchwork placemat – cut colored pages into squares, arrange them on a sheet of card, glue and cover with clear contact paper. Wipes clean and survives breakfast.
- Watercolor pencils – color the fur dry, then go over it with a damp brush. The lines blur into a soft coat that suits newborn fluff better than any other medium.
- Window silhouettes – color a page, cut out the animal, and tape it to a window at a child's eye level. From the garden side it reads as a shadow puppet.
- Collage farm – color the babies from several pages, cut them out, and glue them onto one large sheet painted green with a strip of blue sky. Add a fence from strips of brown paper.
