Dolphins look easy to draw until you try: the long beak, the curved dorsal fin, and that smooth body bending into a perfect arc mid-jump. Every one of these free printable dolphin coloring pages is an original Papaya Ink drawing, and no dolphin here is alone. They share the page with sea turtles, seahorses, octopuses, jellyfish and rays, in places worth coloring – coral reefs and kelp forests, open surf and quiet lagoons, mangrove shallows, sunlit sea caves, and a few whimsical underwater towns where dolphins keep surprisingly busy schedules. Some pages are cute and simple, with big open shapes for kids or a quick evening session; others are detailed ocean scenes full of coral, foam and rock, made for adults who like to take their time.
The collection comes in two formats. Black-and-white pages are classic line art. Pages with a color sample show a finished, fully colored version on top and the same drawing as clean line art below, with a dashed line between them – cut along it and keep the sample next to you, or ignore it and choose your own palette. The Show me buttons above the gallery switch between all pages, black and white only, or only the pages with a color sample. Click any picture and its PDF opens, sized for US Letter and fitting A4 just as well. On a black-and-white printer the color sample comes out gray, so for that format a color printer is worth it.
A few tips for ocean pages. A dolphin is rarely plain gray: real bottlenose dolphins are darker blue-gray along the back and fade to almost white on the belly, and copying that shading makes any page look more alive. Leave a thin white line along the top of the head and the fin as a highlight. For water, layer two or three blues and keep the lightest near the surface. For sand and foam, less color is usually more.
