A corgi is a big dog that has been lowered to the ground: full chest, full ears, full personality, legs the length of a coffee cup. The name is usually read as Welsh for dwarf dog, and the breed earned it for centuries by nipping at cattle heels and ducking the kick that followed – being that low is a feature, not a flaw. It also makes a corgi a pleasure to color. The long back gives you a wide stretch of fur to shade, the fox face and upright ears hold a scene together, and the white blaze, chest and socks leave bright paper exactly where you want it. Two breeds share the name, the Pembroke and the slightly larger Cardigan, and both turn up here with their tails on.
Every corgi on this page is an original Papaya Ink dog in a place a corgi would actually be: a garden path, a doorstep, a beach, a picnic blanket, a living room with the cushions rearranged. Some pages are a single dog and a few shapes, made for a quick session or a young hand. Others are full scenes with hedges, tiles and flower beds, and those are for the adult who wants an evening with a sharp pencil. Puppies appear with their mother, with each other, and with the occasional small animal they have not quite worked out yet.
Click any picture and the PDF opens in a new tab, sized for US Letter and fine on A4. A tip for the coat, since the coat is the point: corgis come in red and white, sable, tricolor, and on the Cardigan side also brindle and blue merle. Lay the lighter color first, then short strokes of the darker shade following the direction of the fur, and leave the blaze, the chest and the socks as clean paper. A hint of warm gray under the belly is all the shadow a corgi needs.

Fun Things to Make with These Coloring Pages
- Corgi bookmark – color a single-dog page, cut out the dog with a strip of the ground beneath him, glue it onto card stock and seal it with clear tape. The long body makes a natural bookmark shape.
- Coat chart – print one page several times and color the same dog in each recognized corgi coat: red and white, sable, tricolor, then brindle and blue merle. Pin the set up as a reference for every page after.
- Watercolor wash – print on heavier paper, color lightly with pencils, then brush a thin wash over the sky and grass only. The black lines hold, and the dog stays crisp against the softer background.
- Framed garden trio – choose three garden scenes, color them in the same palette and frame them side by side. The matching greens read as one piece on a wall.
- Pet-sitter card – fold a colored page in half with the dog on the front and write the feeding times inside. It is far more likely to stay on the fridge than a plain note.
- Jigsaw – glue a finished page onto thin cardboard, let it dry flat, and cut it into pieces along the shapes rather than a grid. Hedges, tiles and clouds make natural edges.
- Corgi garland – cut the dogs out of several finished pages, punch a hole above each pair of ears and thread them onto twine. A row of corgis across a bookshelf or a party table, all different coats.
- Gift wrap – color a few pages in bright crayon, no shading, and use them to wrap small boxes. The dog ends up somewhere on the lid, which is the fun of it.
