Cats do not pose, so somebody has to draw them for you. These cat coloring pages are our collection of house cats and pedigree breeds – long-haired and short-haired, round-faced and lanky, the kind that sits in boxes and the kind that sits in fountains – drawn at a size that leaves room for real shading. Every cat here is an original Papaya Ink drawing; nobody is borrowed from a cartoon.

The collection comes in two formats, and the Show me buttons above the grid sort them. Black & White sheets are clean line art, the classic coloring page. With Color Sample sheets are our copy-coloring format: the top half is a finished color version, the bottom half is the same drawing as line art, with a dashed line between them to fold or cut along. Copy the sample stroke for stroke, or use it as a starting point and change the breed. Click any picture and the PDF opens in a new tab, sized for US Letter and fitting A4 without adjustment. One note on the color-sample sheets: a black-and-white printer turns the sample into gray tones, so they look best from a color printer.

Cats reward patience in the coloring. Fur reads best built in layers – a light base, then short strokes in a darker shade following the direction of the hair, then the darkest tone only in the shadows under the chin and along the belly. Leave a white highlight in each eye and a dot on the nose, and the cat looks alive. The line-art sheets suit a quiet evening with pencils; the simpler scenes work for kids and for anyone who likes a page that finishes in one sitting.
