Most princess coloring pages are the same princess: a face, a tiara and a triangle of dress with nothing to do. The princesses on these free printable princess coloring pages have a life. They ride, bake, paint, read star charts, feed a horse over a bridge and negotiate with a kitten that will not come down from a tree. Every one of them is an original Papaya Ink character, drawn for this site and borrowed from no film or show, so the gowns, castles and companions come with no official colors attached. You decide what royalty wears.
Click any page and it opens as a PDF in a new tab, ready to print or save. The pages are sized for US Letter and print just as well on A4. They are built for paper rather than screens: the lines stay crisp at full size and the backgrounds stay white, so an ordinary home printer in black and white is all you need.
A princess page is decided by the dress, so choose one main color and one accent before the first stroke and ration the accent to trim, ribbons and the tiara. Leave the skin and hair lighter than the gown, keep the background a step paler than the figure, and the princess will come forward on her own. Pencils suit the full gowns, since a folded skirt wants gradual shading; markers are faster on the castles and furniture, where the shapes are flat. On the detailed pages, a sharp point matters more than a big palette.

Fun Things to Make with These Coloring Pages
- Paper doll crown – color the princess, cut out the tiara from a second printed copy, glue it to a strip of card and size the strip to a child's head. The same page gives you a picture and a crown.
- Castle window card – fold a sheet of card in half, cut an arched window in the front, and glue the colored page inside so the princess looks out through the arch. Add a drawn stone edge around the window.
- Storybook binding – color several pages, write one sentence under each about what the princess is doing, then punch two holes and tie them with ribbon. The order of the pages becomes the plot.
- Watercolor gown – color everything except the dress with pencils, then paint the dress with a wet brush and two watercolor shades, letting them bleed into each other. The lines are thick enough to hold the water.
- Glitter trim – after coloring, run a thin line of glue along the tiara, the necklace and the hem of the gown and sprinkle fine glitter over it. Tap off the excess over a sheet of paper so it can be reused.
- Ballroom silhouette – color the page, cut out the princess and glue her onto black card. The black makes the gown colors look twice as bright and hides any shaky edges.
- Tea party place cards – color the princesses, cut them out, fold a strip of card into a tent and glue a princess to each one. Write a guest's name beside her and set one at every plate.
- Royal portrait frame – glue the finished page to a larger sheet of gold or cream card, then draw a frame around it with scrolls at the corners. Hang it with a loop of ribbon from the top edge.
