Castles are the perfect subject for anyone who loves to lose an afternoon in a detailed coloring page. Stone towers, pointed turrets, flags snapping in the wind, drawbridges, moats, and tiny windows all give you dozens of small areas to work through, and the results look stunning framed or pinned above a desk. This collection of free castle coloring pages mixes classic medieval fortresses with fairytale castles, enchanted castles hidden in unexpected places, and a few scenes with knights, princesses, dragons, and other castle residents going about their day.
The pages range from clean, open designs that are quick and relaxing to fill in, to intricate castle scenes that reward patience with fine markers or colored pencils. Landscape lovers will find mountains, waterfalls, rivers, and gardens wrapped around the walls; fantasy fans will find magic and creatures. Grown-ups tend to reach for the highly detailed sheets, while kids usually go straight for the ones with characters and animals, so there is something here for a quiet evening alone or a family coloring session.

Fun Things to Make with These Coloring Pages
- Color a castle scene, mount it on cardstock, and frame it as wall art for a hallway or a kid's room.
- Fold a colored page in half to make a greeting card – castle designs work well for birthday invitations with a royal theme.
- Cut out the castle and the characters separately, add popsicle sticks, and use them as puppets for storytelling.
- Color several pages in the same palette and bind them with ribbon into a personal castle coloring book.
- Try a limited palette on a detailed castle: three shades of gray for the stone plus one bright accent color for flags and roofs.
- Glue a colored page to the front of a folder or notebook cover and seal it with clear tape or contact paper.
- Laminate a finished page and use it as a placemat for a princess or knight themed party.
- Have everyone at the table color the same castle design, then hang the pages side by side to compare the different color choices.
