Bears are forgiving animals to color. The shapes are big and round, and brown is never a single color but a whole shelf of them: honey, cinnamon, chestnut, cocoa. These bear coloring pages come in several styles on one page. The realistic black and white sheets are wildlife scenes for slow work – grizzly bears, black bears and polar bears with their cubs in forests, on rivers and on the Arctic ice, drawn with fine fur texture and full backgrounds. The storybook black and white sheets have bold outlines and a friendly teddy-style bear who is always busy with something: a workshop, a kitchen, a garden, a pond, a snowy day. The copy coloring sheets show the finished scene in full color on top and the same picture as clean line art underneath, with a dotted cut line between them. Every bear here is an original Papaya Ink drawing; no characters are borrowed from cartoons or books.
Use the Show me buttons above the pictures to see everything at once, only the black and white pages, or only the pages with a color sample. Every printable bear coloring page is free: click the picture – PDF opens, US Letter, fits A4. The black and white pages print crisp on any printer; on a black-and-white printer the color samples come out in shades of gray. Plain office paper is fine for pencils, and heavier paper is worth it for markers or for sheets you plan to cut apart.
The realistic bear coloring sheets are made first of all for adults and teens who like colored pencils and fine liners. The storybook pages are easy bear coloring pages with large open areas – good for markers and crayons, a quiet evening or a classroom table. The color sample pages suit anyone who would rather follow a finished example than choose a palette. Whichever style you print, keep the muzzle, the inner ears and the paw pads a shade lighter than the coat, and the bear stops looking flat. A polar bear is rarely pure white: cream on the back and a little pale blue in the shadows is enough. Leave a small white dot in each eye and the face comes alive.

Fun Things to Make with These Coloring Pages
1. Frame a finished realistic bear page in a simple black frame for a cabin-style wall, a den or a reading corner.
2. Color one sheet in true wildlife colors and print it again for a fantasy palette, then hang the two versions side by side.
3. Cut a colored page down to the bear and its nearest surroundings and glue it onto a folded card for a birthday or thank-you note.
4. Use a detailed sheet as a nature journal page: color it, then write facts about where bears live and what they eat around the margins.
5. On the color sample pages, cut along the dotted line and mount the finished outline next to the sample as a matching pair.
6. Glue a colored page onto cardboard and cut it into large pieces for a homemade bear puzzle.
7. Laminate a finished sheet and use it as a placemat, a binder cover or a bookmark strip.
8. Practice shading on the fur: pick a light, a middle and a dark brown and build the coat in layers with short strokes that follow the hair.
