Forget the gloomy, blood-dripping vampire of the old movies. The vampires on this page are the friendliest creatures in the castle: well-dressed, a little vain about their capes, devoted to their pet bats and cats, and far more interested in music, baking, books and good company than in scaring anyone. Fangs, pointed ears and high collars are all here, but every face is smiling. Gothic windows, candlelight, full moons and castle towers turn up in the background of almost every scene, so these vampire coloring pages work for Halloween and for any cozy evening the rest of the year.
The collection comes in two formats, and the Show me buttons above the pictures let you see just the kind you want. Black and white pages are classic full-size line art: the whole sheet is yours, with plenty of lace, embroidery, stonework and swirling capes for adults who enjoy detailed coloring, and they print perfectly on any printer. Pages with a color sample are copy coloring pages: the top half is a finished full-color picture, the bottom half is the same scene as clean line art, with a dotted cut line between them. Match the sample shade for shade or ignore it and invent a wardrobe of your own. (The color sample prints in gray on a black-and-white printer, so a color printer shows it best.)

Fun Things to Make with These Coloring Pages
- Cut along the dotted line, color the bottom half, then tape both halves side by side on the fridge to compare your version with the original.
- Glue a finished line-art half onto black cardstock, trim it into a coffin or castle-door shape and hang it as Halloween door decor.
- Fold the colored half in half to make a Halloween greeting card and write a "Happy Halloween" note inside.
- Color a sheet with metallic gold and silver gel pens on the collars, buttons and candelabras so the vampires look like they are dressed for a ball.
- Make a garland: color several bottom halves, cut out the vampire figures, punch a hole at the top and string them on black ribbon.
- Turn one sheet into a pumpkin-carving stencil: trace the vampire's silhouette onto tracing paper and transfer it to your pumpkin.
- Host a "match the master" contest at a Halloween party – everyone colors the same sheet using the top half as the guide, and the closest match wins a candy prize.
- Laminate a colored line-art half and use it as a spooky bookmark or a placemat for the Halloween dinner table.
